RETURN
TO CONSCIOUSNESS:
THE
NECESSARY REVOLUTION IN INTERNAL TECHNOLOGY
"Man...has
become the tyrant of the Earth, the waster of its resources, the
creator of the most prodigious imbalance in the natural order which
has ever existed…"
Joseph Wood Krutch, The Voice of the Desert
Joseph Wood Krutch, The Voice of the Desert
"Are
the worlds of more advanced civilizations totally geometrized,
entirely rebuilt by their inhabitants? Or would the signature of a
really
advanced civilization be that they left no sign at all?"
Carl Sagan, Contact
Carl Sagan, Contact
A
vast technological paradox characterizes the current global scenario
of humanity and the Earth. Printing and computer networks enable us
to share ideas and information across expanses of time and space;
through the summation of myriad military-industrial complexities and
personal 'convenience'...nuclear reactors, HAARP, naval sonar,
seismic testing, genetic engineering, mining, bull-dozers,
automobiles, 'smart' phones, television...we are waging a largely
invisible but diabolically full-spectrum war on Mother Earth, on
ourselves, on life as we know her. A much more fundamental technology
exists, however, that makes all this possible. By means of the
'ultimate technology'...our brains, minds and bodies...we are able to
live, think, perceive, communicate, create...and destroy
at escalating levels of efficiency. Revisualizing
technology in the service of renavigation of the human process is our
most urgent necessity.
Technology
as traditionally understood refers to machines and devices, apparati
external
to us, what astronomer Carl Sagan terms 'extra-somatic artefacts.'
The ancient Greek word techne,
however,
has to do with making
or doing;
in a true etymological sense technology is anything that enables or
allows us to make or to do. Our bodies as a whole, and those of all
organisms, the astronomically complex and synergetically
inter-dependent living systems comprising each of us are living
bio-technologies,
exquisite expressions of Gaian fecundity.
The
current global scenario is anomalous: the modern 'technological
revolution' has appeared only over the last 200 years or so, although
homo
sapiens,
'man, the wise' is believed to have existed for at least a million.
Our biological hardware
has remained constant but our bio-psychological software,
our 'internal technology', has under-gone massive transformation;
'self-mutation' may be more accurate than 'evolution.'
Indigenous
peoples including cetaceans not only survived but thrived with
minimal or non-existent external technologies. Since the dawn of
'civilization', literally, 'living in cities', however, indigenous
beings and the Earth herself have become targets for enslavement,
extraction, and extermination; since 'civilized' man began to 'dig
precious things from the land' in direct violation of indigenous
wisdom, we have not only invited disaster, but done our utmost to
create it. For the last 5000 years, 'civilization' and 'technology'
have metastasized synergetically and exponentially to bring us to the
brink of trans-humanized ecocide where we find ourselves today.
Chief
Seattle observed that 'What we do to the Earth, we do to ourselves.'
Today, our most highly advanced forms of 'technology' are weapons
systems whose purposes are imperialism and genocide, in fulfilment of
the massive karmic back-lash we have accumulated, given a
non-anthropocentric frame of reference in which all
life is meaningful and sacred...the essence of indigenous wisdom we
have chronically ignored. 'Civilization' glorifies 'progress' but
human technological activity is clearly the primary threat to life as
we know her, representing what may well be the Earth's first
planetary catastrophe of terrestrial origin.1
In
our age of materialism we have chosen to focus on matter instead of
mind, on external rather than internal realities and technologies.
Our 'ultimate technology' is on collective auto-pilot, as we sink
ever more deeply into unconsciousness while the mega-machine rages
on, seemingly with a mind of its own.
Awareness
of internal technologies includes ancient concepts like chakras,
mandalas,
meditation and yoga, but Dr. John C. Lilly's concept of the human
bio-computer is
a contemporary model of strategic significance whose goal is to help
us become 'self-metaprogramming.' The hard- and soft-ware of the
bio-computer, corresponding to brain and mind, are the guidance
systems
of living bio-technology. How we choose to use our brains and minds
is the crucial singularity of here and now.2
The
explosive proliferation of increasingly lethal material technologies
defies description; the military is at least 50 years ahead of what
the scientifically ignorant and socially engineered public is aware
of. Unrestrained geo-engineering, the 'planet Earth as target and
weapon' scenario, the technogeneous presence itself, the
pervasiveness of toxicity and resource extraction, the global
decimation of cetaceans, the 'trans-human' movement are creating a
'techno-Koyaanisqatsi' syndrome our planet can no longer sustain.3
Without
digital computers, a mega-machine of this scale would be
impossible; yet these external technologies are merely primitive
projections of our brains and minds. Computare
in Latin means 'to think or reflect upon' and kybernetes
in Greek means 'pilot or navigator, as of a ship': WE are truly
cybernetic
computers,
living bio-technologies who can self-metaprogram and self-navigate
entirely new dMOE's,
'distributed mental operating environments', new ways of thinking,
being, relating, living.4
Our
challenge is to
regain our brains
from the 'shrewd methods of psychic influence', the dark arts of self-inflicted mind-control, wake up,
consent to re-engineer ourselves, and bring our 'secret weapon', our
realization that we ARE the ultimate technology, on-line and into
consciousness. By means of a 'Manhattan Project of the mind' at the
individual level, a thorough revisualization of technology towards
the within, and a return to consciousness and primacy of spirit, we
can become co-creators of realities that reflect our true beautiful
nature as human beings who love life.5
Beyond
the knowledge that we are no longer wilfully or unconsciously
particating in the destruction of life, lies the joy of infinite
creativity. Despite our chronic delusion, we have never been alone on
Mothership Earth. Mitakuye
oyasin
have been waiting for us to wake up. The cetaceans, a true
'extra-terrestrial intelligence', have an 'ultimate technology' even
more advanced than ours. They have much to share concerning higher
octaves of thought, the secrets of water-based life, pod-mind and
telepathy, what it means to be truly 'human.' 6
'Contact'
will have happened when we as a whole realize that WE...our family of
life on Mother Earth...are the miracle we've been searching for. 7

'Resolving
the Paradox of Incoherency' Jeff Phillips In this article I develop
my concept of the dMOE
or 'distributed mental operating environmen' and contrast the
dominant W.A.S.I.C.H.U.
versus P.O.O.H.
dMOE's.
"We
travel together, passengers
on a little spaceship, dependent upon its vulnerable reserves of air
and soil, all committed for our safety to its security and peace;
preserved from annihilation only by the care, the work, and, I will
say, the love we give our fragile craft. We cannot maintain it half
fortunate, half miserable, half confident, half despairing, half
slave to the ancient enemies of man, half free in a liberation of
resources undreamed of until this day. No craft, no crew can travel
safely with such vast
contradictions. On their resolution
depends the survival of us all."
ADLAI
STEVENSON, 1964
"The
scientist of today is distressed by the fact that the results of his
scientific work have created a threat to mankind since they have
fallen into the hands of morally blind exponents of political power.
He is conscious of the fact that technological methods, made possible
by his work, have led to a concentration of economic and also of
political power in the hands of small minorities which have come to
dominate completely the lives of the masses of people, who appear
more and more amorphous. But even worse: the concentration of
economic and political power has not only made the man of science
dependent economically, it also threatens his independence from
within; the shrewd methods of intellectual and psychic influences
which it brings to bear will prevent the development of independent
personalities."
Albert
Einstein, Bulletin of the
Atomic Scientists, 1952
"The
lie can be maintained only for such time as the state can shield the
people from political, economic and/or military consequences of the
lie. It thus becomes vitally important
for the state to use all of its powers to repress dissent,
for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension,
the truth becomes the greatest enemy of the state."
Dr.
Joseph M. Goebbels, Ministry of Enlightenment, Third Reich

"We
are not alone: How we are waging war on a true 'extra-terrestrial
intelligence' " Jeff Phillips
"I
think that the cetaceans are using their highly advanced ‘internal
technologies’ of group-telepathy and holographic
consciousness-transmission to beam their love and message into the
human psyche, now more than ever...Within their collective psyche
they may have memories and knowledge of the history of Earth and
humanity that we are unable and/or unwilling to access. They may have
knowledge of life elsewhere in the universe...of
telepathically-connected galactic communities...and a greater
appreciation of the beauty and uniqueness of life on THIS planet.
Perhaps they are the ‘mind of Gaia’ herself."
7)
"Maybe
the next level from which our problems can be solved is simply a
matter of a quantum leap in our psychological world-view: to
consider that we may actually be the 'ultimate technology' with
innate abilites to creatively and harmoniously re-program what we
think of as 'reality' and how we relate to ourselves, our fellow
beings, our planet.
This
is what I always wanted to tell Carl Sagan and the other SETI
radio-astronomers…that I thought they were looking in the wrong
place for 'extra-terrestrial' intelligence…that it’s actually
embedded in the nature of life itself, in our dna, our cells, our
brains and minds; in trees, in rocks, in the whales and dolphins, in
water, in the Earth, the stars, the galaxies, the entire omniverse.
In us.
Is
this realization what we are really afraid of, what we are in denial
of, what we are running from…what we refuse to acknowledge, to
remember? Could it be that even more terrifying to us than ancient
memories of cosmic catastrophe is the awareness that we ourselves
actually ARE the 'extra-terrestrial intelligence' we have long
sought? That we are not a 'fallen' race of world-eating
vermin…all that was just a really bad dream…but actually ARE
higher-dimensional divine beings who are coming out of
hibernation…waking up to the opportunity and responsibility, the
excitement and wonder of being here and now, on the threshold of a
new age…of our own creation?"
